You thought cholera, dysentery, staph infections, ax wounds, falling off a horse, and kidney
infections were things that only happened on the Oregon Trail. Well
too bad, it happens here too. If you have lived through these and
been able to tell the story, you deserve the Sick Bay badge. While staying at
the Peace Corps headquarters or even in a hospital is no fun; per diem
and the boasting rights of surviving such awful diseases will provide you with at least some pay you
back for your suffering. That or maybe a free trip to Thailand. Fortunately for you the PC medical officers kept you from ending up as an RIP tombstone along the way. Congratulations.
