No indoor plumbing, no turning on the water pipes. You've lived in a ger, or maybe a house, and you've had to fetch your own water. Or maybe you've gotten some kids to do it for you occasionally. Whatever the case, it's taught you about conservation, back problems, how unbelievably heavy water is, and how good of an idea those little water cart things are. If you've fetched your own water for a year or more, you've earned the Fetching badge.

Each merit badge is hand-sewn by our friend Tseesuren from home-pressed traditional Mongolian felt, the same kind that has lined the inside of gers in Mongolia to keep them warm for generations.
